Is this written by a medical professional?

No. This site is authored by a lifelong victim of a family of sociopaths, spanning 50+ years. The stories I share of my personal experiences are all real-life events from first-hand knowledge. Information of non-personal events are from research combined with my own knowledge. I often find professional information (those psychologists using study as their source) to be skewed, if not downright incorrect. First-hand experience, along with extensive research, is tough to beat.

With that said, this site is not intended, whatsoever, to diagnose, counsel or provide professional advice.

I have, though, sought out therapy with multiple psychologists, but none have had near the knowledge that I have, something that can only be gained through first-hand experience. One therapist actually admitted to me she could not help me since she could not even respond to my experiences.

I have researched psychopathy, bipolar disorder, and other conditions affecting my family and ex-wife since 1995 — growing up in a family of sociopaths also gives me over 50 years of painful experience as a lifelong victim. Since going online in August, 2009, this site has become a leading source of information based on search results alone.

NOTE: This site’s sole purpose is intended to assist those in similar situations, such as those finding themselves as a victim, or attempting to determine why certain people act differently than others. Any attempt to use this site as a means of harassment is strictly forbidden, and will be dealt with quickly and appropriately.

This is a starting point. If you have similar experiences, please seek out a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist with specialized sociopathic experience. Make sure to ask lots of questions, since no two professionals are alike. Personally, I have yet to find a professional with any real psychopathy experience.

Words of wisdom: A chiropractor once said to me in reference to psychiatrists and psychologists, “Keep this in mind: the reason I became a chiropractor is because I have a phuqued-up back … think about it.”

Be aware that you may, and probably will, come across levity, wit, and humor while reading through this site. I believe there’s no medicine quite as unique or powerful as laughter. Please, do not interpret it as lending discredit to the seriousness of this subject, or my personal experiences. Throughout my life, I’ve turned to laughter in times of stress, as it is the best medicine to help ward-off an early death.
